Meet Interim Education Director Juliet Barr
Juliet is a Dynamic Jewish Educator with experience in teaching, designing stimulating classroom curricula, and management and administration. She has a strong track record in community building, post Bar/t Mitzvah retention, as well as creating new models for and working with teens. Her special focus is family programming, informal education, social action and “mitzvah programming.” She comes to us with a background in preparing classes and experiences for persons with special needs, and has worked with diverse communities. We are so lucky to have her working with us this year!
Our religious school provides students with a Jewish education that has a special focus on creating community and holiness in their lives. Many of our children go to weekday schools where they are the only Jewish student in their grade, or one of only a small number in their school. We want their experience with us to be one where they feel at home, welcomed and accepted into a community of other Jews. When our students graduate from our school we want them to know what it means to be Jewish, understand the value of Jewish community, and feel comfortable and knowledgeable when entering other Jewish communities. Our goal is to inspire our students to lifelong Jewish learning and Jewish community activity.
