Mones’ newest novel, Night in Shanghai, is based on the true experiences of African-American musicians in the Chinese jazz age—and what happened when World War II exploded around them. A multi-media presentation highlights China’s dramatic and not very well known efforts to resist the Holocaust. A lively discussion and dessert will follow.

Based entirely on true events, and filled with real personalities, Night in Shanghai  is a page-turning ride through a chapter of history as fantastic as it is, until now, almost entirely forgotten.
