Congregation Kol Ami is our spiritual home. As a house of prayer, we gather together in congregational worship to seek God’s presence, to share our lives as Jews and to be part of the community of Israel. Some are seeking to discover, some to rediscover, all to experience the richness of our Jewish heritage. Because people come to Congregation Kol Ami from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and lifestyles, our worship services offer diversity in time and style, blending the traditional with the contemporary in prayer and song. All are welcome to attend services.
On Shabbat eve, services are at 7:30 p.m. except the third Friday of every month. The third Friday is our Early Service, at 6:00 p.m. This is a shorter service and is followed by a community pot-luck shabbat dinner. Children and adults of all ages are welcome at all of these services, and both offer the opportunity to catch the spirit of Shabbat.
We are blessed to have some very talented songleaders as members of our congregation, they often volunteer to help lead services with the rabbi each week. Their voices and music adds to the joy and community spirit of each Shabbat.
We continue the celebration of Shabbat in the morning at 10:00 a.m. Ours is an informal, participatory service where all are invited to share reading, singing and being part of a warm and welcoming community.
For Children and Families
Tot Shabbat – on the second Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m., young families gather for a Shabbat experience celebrating through story, song, and art. Throughout the year there are many other Shabbat Experiences for early readers and their families.
